How it all Began

Hi there!  It's so good to see you all again :)  For those who may not know, I'm Leo, good friend of Skuzzy the producer of the wonderful new CLAW Theater and the Leo in "SkuzzyLeo Productions"!   I left this mortal coil a year ago....December 26, 2004.  It doesn't seem that long because I've been very busy with things that....well....you just wouldn't understand :)   I had to come back for a brief moment though, and tell you how this all began. You just can't leave such things in the hands of humans ya know! First, a bit of background:

It was May 13,1998 when I first joined CLAW, a wonderful Club just for cats.  It wasn't too long after, that I met the beautiful and talented Skuzzy

We had a lot in common, Skuzzy and I.  We both loved the arts and we both loved the  theater.  So in 1999,when Queen Midnight asked us if we would be willing to finish a play for the CLAW Theater, of course we jumped at the chance!  That play was Cinderella.  It can't be found here just yet because the original was really rough, as all firsts tend to be.  But I think there may be plans down the road to do a digital re-make of that play....you know...bring it up to date. That would be wonderful and I surely hope it happens :)

After that first effort, the rest came easily and quickly, as did the numerous Oscat Awards that recognized our efforts and the efforts of all those fine cators who contributed their talents.  The Wonderful Wizard of Oz opened in January, 2000.  What a spectacular event it was and what a warm reception it received!  Skuzzy was the Wonderful Wizard!   Peter Pan followed in November of 2000.   It was a splendid and fanciful play and my most challenging part!  Alice in Wonderland followed in September 2001.  Wonderland was a Wondrous place.  I was the Cheshire Cat and Skuzzy the mean queen!   In November 2002, Robin Hood premiered.  This I think, was my very favorite of all the plays and I loved my role as Friar Tuck.  It's a long play, but the story is wonderful and the artistry magnificent (if I do say so myself!).  You'll probably need to see it in two parts or bring a lunch and litter box with you when you attend!!  In December, 2003 Aladdin was introduced.  This was the first time Poser was used to create some very special effects!   In July 2005, our last play....Sleeping Beauty was brought to the wide computer screen!   I was gone before it was completely finished, but my sister Gizzmo picked up the gauntlet and helped Skuzzy bring it to production.

Each and every play was better than the one before.  Skuzzy's magnificent talents for costuming only got better over time and I like to think that my scene creation did as well.  I so loved  those plays!

Our other love was the Art Guild and the Art Museum.   Skuzzy took over the Art Guild in 1999.  So many cats contributed their talents to the Museum of CLAW Artists (MOCA) and it grew into a wonderful tribute to the diverse artistic talents of catdom!  A number of Art Shows were held, giving cats an opportunity to present their work and have it professionally judged!   Many awards were given to the well deserving winners! I think the  humans might add MOCA as a CLAW Theater Special Feature!   That would be grand!  It would be such a shame to lose all that wonderful cat created art!

After my death and the closing of CLAW, the humans wanted to ensure that Skuzzy and Leo's work in the theater and the arts would not be  forgotten.  CLAW Theater  and SkuzzyLeo Productions, is their way of making sure that will never happen....at least not for as long as they are around.   As time goes by, other features might be added.  I know they plan an interview soon with Queen Midnight, founder of CLAW and they've linked to my sister Gizzmo's new Club.....Fur and Fang!   Maybe someday, they will finish that wonderful trip to Egypt that we started so many years ago!  And let's not forget the Mardi Gras Celebration!  I would  love to see all those wonderful floats again and especially our Wizard of OZ floats as well as those of the Minnesota Kitty Society  and the Art Guild :)

Skuzzy and Leo will live forever through SkuzzyLeo Productions and in the minds of our human's who love us :)

Well.....I think it's time for me to go :)  I truly enjoyed our little visit.  I miss you all very much and wish you much love.  I truly loved Skuzzy (as a friend of course!) and wish I would have told her when I walked among you.   But I'm  a "shy sorta guy" and you know how us guys always have to try and act "cool"!   But I suspect she knew :)   I'll peek in from time to time....just to make sure the human's aren't  making a mess of something and someday soon, you will all join me at rainbow's end.  Until then.....live happily and joyfully until the end of your days and take joy in knowing that you've left your mark on the world for all time.
