Hagan Residence - Kentuck Knob

The I. N. Hagan Residence (1954) was built just below the peak of Kentuck Knob and appears to grow out of the hillside upon which it is perched. Not far from Fallingwater, the Hagan Residence is surrounded by 79 acres of reforested farmland overlooking the Youghiogheny River Gorge. The present owners, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Palumbo of Great Britain, permit the public to tour the house. Photographs of the interior are not permitted.

The house is constructed of native field-stone found throughout the property and tidewater red cypress; the roof is copper. Designed on a hexagonal grid, there are no right angles in the house (well, except in the bathroom where the plumber refused to follow Wright's plan for open angles).
