Also known as Judith of the West Franks Judith married Æthelwulf King of Wessex, son of Ecgbeorht King of Wessex and Redburga, on 1 Oct 856.1 (Æthelwulf King of Wessex was born between 795 and 810,4 died after 13 Jan 858 5 and was buried in Winchester, Hampshire, England.) Judith next married Æthelbald King of Wessex, son of Æthelwulf King of Wessex and Osburga, in 858.2 (Æthelbald King of Wessex was born about 834,6 died on 20 Dec 860 6 and was buried on 25 Dec 860 in Sherborne Abbey, Dorset, England 6.)
This marriage was annulled in 860 on the grounds of consanguinity. Judith next married Baldwin I 'Iron-Arm' Comte de Flandre in 863 in Auxerre, France.3 (Baldwin I 'Iron-Arm' Comte de Flandre was born before 847 3 and died about 879 3.) |
