Igor I Rurikovich of Kiev ¹

Cause of death was assasination.

Rurik's successor Oleg (d. 912) conquered Kiev (c. 882) and established control of the trade route extending from Novgorod, along the Dnieper River, to the Black Sea. Igor (allegedly Rurik's son; reigned 912-945) and his successors--his wife, St. Olga (regent 945-969), and their son Svyatoslav (reigned 945-972)--further extended their territories.

Igor married Saint Olga of Pskov on an unknown date. (Saint Olga of Pskov was born in 890 ¹, baptized about 957 in Constantinople (now Istanbul, Turkey) ¹ and died on 11 Jul 969 in Kiev, Kievan Rus ¹.)
