Engelger d'Anjou held the office of Governor of Rennes. Governor of Petronille d'Auxerre.

Ingelger was the father of Fulk I who was a count of Anjou. He himself was not a count of Anjou. Ingelger was a viscount who held territory around Orléans and Angers at the end of the 9th century. His son Fulk became the first count of Anjou. After Robert the Strong, he directed the resistance to the Norman invasions on the Loire.
