"Before coming to New France, Marie had an enfant naturel, a daughter named Marie, who was born on 6 Nov 1644 and baptized 16 Nov 1644 at Ars-en-Ré on the Île de Ré (diocese of La Rochelle). The girl's father is Abraham Brunet from La Rochelle. Marie became a Calvinist on 29 Jun 1645 at La Rochelle. She came to Canada with her daughter in 1650, but there is no mention in the Canadian archives of her daughter, who presumably died some time before her departure or during the crossing." -- Gagné, FM, pg 270
